In the year 2006, Beijing Institute of Technology made its debut in the China League Two, securing the championship and subsequently advancing to the China League One in the same season. From 2007 to 2015, the team maintained a consistent presence in the League One, achieving their best ever position of seventh place in the 2008 season. Upon the conclusion of the 2015 campaign, BIT was relegated back to the China League Two. In the 2020 season, the team finished fourth, securing a spot in the League One through a promotion. However, their performance in the following two League One seasons was disappointing, leading to another relegation back to the China League Two at the end of the 2022 season. In the 2023 season, BIT led the North Division in the preliminary round before ultimately finishing sixth in the promotion group, marking their final shining moment. During the 2024 and 2025 seasons, the team fought hard to avoid relegation, only to be relegated at the end of the 2026 season.
